Mercer Island Estate
It is always a pleasure to be involved in a project as successful as the Sanderson's Mercer Island home. SHKS Architects worked on the exterior restoration and interior renovation, developing a new floor plan that integrates contemporary building systems and implements Kelly Wearstler's vision for the interior. Elle Decor profiled Ms. Wearstler's work in a September 2012 issue.
The home is situated amongst tall confiers and lush forest vegetation, creating a magical place that the Sandersons cherish. Pacific Northwest Magazine's June 2013 issue features an article that focuses on the use of nature as a guide for making design choices for the site and is illustrated with evocative photographs by Ben Benschneider.
