Revisioned Estate

Located on the west side of Mercer Island, this 1946 home was fully remodeled. SHKS Architects carefully restored the exterior, returning it to its original character. The exterior is reserved, handsomely detailed and respectful of the original. Working in close collaboration with the owners and interior designer Kelly Wearstler, SHKS developed a new floor plan integrating contemporary building systems and implementing Ms. Wearstler's vision for the interior.

The house opens to a private terrace and pool, creating a welcoming environment for family and guests. Views extend from the interior across the terrace to the forest beyond.

The house maintains an intimate scale and merges quietly with the surrounding landscape.

Large windows bring daylight into the stair hall adding an element of surprise.

The dining room extends toward the pool terrace, providing light and views enhancing the dining experience.
