Home Historic District

In 1896, a group of anarchists settled along the shores of Puget Sound to live close to the land. A large number of the buildings remain and form the nucleus of the Home Historic District. A handbook was written and designed to guide development in this historic waterfront no-longer anarchist community.

Lively engagement results in extraordinary places.

SHKS Architects finds elegance in necessity, elevating the core principles of each unique site and building project to reflect our clients' aspirations.

Through collaboration, care, craft, and discovery, we reveal architecture's inherent optimism, contributing to our local community and to the global stewardship of natural and built environments.
