WWU Carver Labs
Programs in medicine, health, and fitness are growing rapidly across the country. To alleviate crowding in existing lab spaces at Western Washington University, SHKS transformed 2,800 SF of unoccupied space in the Carver Academic Facility to accommodate two new anatomy and physiology labs. Separated by a shared storage and prep area, the lab spaces maintain flexibility for multi-purpose use as programs continue to evolve. Built-in furnishing, such as cabinetry and sink, are limited to perimeter walls to maximize adaptable space. Student and teacher work stations all incorporate movable and adjustable furnishings.
